Tire Recycling Plan -  Update from News 95.7

The County of Guysborough is threatening legal action now to stop a tire recycling plant from locating in HRM.

"The province has now cleared the way for C&D Recycling to set up the plant in Goodwood off the Prospect Road that will shred or store up to 1 million old tires a year.

Lloyd Hines, the warden of Guysborough County, says their bid was substaintally cheaper than the Goodwood one.

"In a province as broke as Nova Scotia," says Lloyd Hines, "how can you kiss off $650,000 a year for a guaranteed five years with the option for another five years?"

Voices of the Sea Spring Season

VOICES of the SEA , the Prospect Communities' singing ambassadors are looking forward to an interesting Spring and Summer season.

Plans are underway for a number of local performances including the Seniors' Club; some seniors' residences throughout the Spring; in June, the Prospect Community Centre's Grand Opening; and in July the Blessing of the Boats Service in Terence Bay. New members (from 9 to 90!) are welcome.

No previous choir experience is required. Come and find out how much fun we have!

REHEARSALS are on MONDAY evenings from 6 pm to 7:30 pm , temporarily held in the Saint Joseph Church Hall - Shad Bay with plans to make the Prospect Community Centre our permanent home once it' s ope...
